Re: A black sheep in the series, yet it still gives me the c

I like bold risks in video games. I think the direction SH4 was going in was one worth exploring and the game has some truly inspired ideas and moments. But it's also held back by a lot of frustrating design choices, average at best level design, barely existent puzzles, and one of the worst second...

A black sheep in the series, yet it still gives me the creep

I finished Silent Hill 4 once again and I still don't get why all the fans are whining about that Silent Hill 4 is a bad game and so on... I believe Team Silent did an excellent job in doing something new and fresh as they originally intended. This game basically subverts our expectations in many wa...

Re: So Joseph Schreiber's demise was?

Why Joseph couldn't have been killed by a ghost? He clearly lost it. Succumbed to despair because ghosts invaded his room.

His death method is probably suffocation from despair.

Re: Why Walter doesn't have ghostly aura ?

I thought about it too. Maybe Walter is resurrected by different means...

But Joseph (15/21) had neither damaging aura. When Henry meets him in his room, he even talked to him. But the whole room contains lit holy candles, so maybe it keeps the effects of the ghost aura at bay...

Re: Why are the victims of Walter hostile to Henry?

They pursue Henry relentlessly. They are typical ghosts from japanese horror stories. Have everyone seen the ju-on - the grudge horror film? I see similarities here. Also, I believe if they kill Henry, they help Walter complete the 21 sacraments ritual. Joseph (15/21) is killed by Jimmy Stone's ghos...

Re: Why are the victims of Walter hostile to Henry?

They stick their hands into Henry's chest to grab his heart. It reminds me somehow the ten hearts ritual. Walter removed their heart to consume them to gain the power of heaven. It means they lack their heart. Symbolism?

Why does not appear all 19 ghosts of Walter victims?

I came up with this idea last night... Joseph wrote about swords of obedience in his memo. He said he used some of them on ghosts he encountered... It seems logical to me that some of the ghosts doesn't appear as Joseph pinned them down before...

You can do it. Stand still in Room 302 and wait....

Nothing will happen! :P
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
It is a requirement for the 21 sacraments to witness the 16/21-20/21 murders and getting killed by Walter or his minions after Henry (the player) has got enough insight.

Why are the victims of Walter hostile to Henry?

If those people are killed by Walter, why are they hostile to Henry? Walter is their murderer after all. Or they are became cursed in the process of the ritual?

Re: What really happened in the opening sequence?

I always thought that beginning scene was Alessa trying to kill harry, and then failling cause the darkness went away...idk i played it a while ago once..i actually plan on replaying it tomorrow What if Alessa was just trying to frighten Harry enough to leave town? But thinking about the game... Th...

Sailboats can be seen in Toluca Lake?

Maybe I saw it wrong, but while I watched the cutscene as James reads the letter he got from Mary, Toluca Lake can be observed in the background in BIG detail. As I watch it harder, I noticed 3 sailboats in the upper-right corner of the screen (just above the toilet). Have you noticed it too? If the...

Re: So Joseph Schreiber's demise was?

But if you arrive to Room 302 of the Past with Henry, you can see black goo on the floor in the living room. If you remember the dream, that's exactly the spot where Joseph falls over in pain during the nightmare . It is exactly the same spot again to trigger the cutscene with Joseph while Henry and...

Why Walter doesn't have ghostly aura ?

Walter can be seen running around as a ghost, he is the 11/21 victim, yet he doesn't have damaging aura. Explanation? What makes him special? Holy Assumption? And other victims are sinners?

So Joseph Schreiber's demise was?

Joseph ultimately finds himself trapped in alternate Room 302. (We witness his last moments in the beginning nightmare). Victim Old-Type breaks in (similar to the Haunting we find later) and Joseph fall over in pain. So Victim 15/21 is not killed by Walter directly but by Victim 01/21. What do you t...

What is the most nightmare-like location in Silent Hill 4?

I mean not Otherworldly like the previous Silent Hill installments, but I mean which location resembles more to someone's nightmare than just a completely avarage area? Well, I don't remember I ever dreamt about blood, rust and metallic walkways at all. :D That's why I don't put the Apartment world ...

Re: What is the method of sacrificing the 21th victim?

Somehow I've left in impression that Henry is not killed by that killing machine, but by locked in Room 302. After each "Nightmare" you wake up in the bed, means that Henry never really leaves The Room, but staying in bed all the time. It feels like as if Henry isn't killed by Walter direc...

Re: What is the method of sacrificing the 21th victim?

When I saw at that spiked machine thing which Eileen walked into, I think it would chop its victims into pieces. But when I look at Henry's ghost at the door during a haunting, I see him as if he was beaten up or at least starved to death, because he can't go out from his apartment.

Re: Why the Apartment World keeps Room 302 untouched???

Hmm.. That makes sense. Thanks. So, Henry is the part of Room 302, so he is not supposed to go out into the corrupt world, that is the meaning of the chains and the message of Walter "don't go out". Throughout the game, I noticed symbolisms of birthing. Room 302 = Womb, hole in the bathroo...

What is the method of sacrificing the 21th victim?

I mean, how Walter would kill Henry if he manage to sacrifice him, therefore completing the 21 Sacrements? There are hints: - The 21 Sacrements ending - Henry's ghost peephole haunting In the 21 sacrements ending, in the radio, the newscaster said that "The last body discovered was found in Roo...
