Re: Downpour Cons ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
When I first found the golden gun I thought "Well that means there's gonna be an agent tuxedo somewhere!".... but no. I also thought the golden gun would do something special, but it doesn't. No infinite ammo, no super powerful bullets, nothing. It seemed like the golden gun was identical...

Re: Downpour Easter Eggs (spoilers within)
This isn't really an easter egg, its more of an odd little detail I noticed on my current play through. In the Devil's Pit diner, look on the wall next to where you pick up the map. There will be a board with the daily specials on it, and it says: Monday - meat Tuesday - meat Wednesday - meat Thursd...

I thought the movie was alright, though I prefer the first one. I'll tackle some of the movie's cons first. The acting was a bit wooden in some scenes, and the script wasn't the greatest, but I've seen and heard much worse. Though the part where Chris talks to Rose in the beginning was a bit cringe ...

Re: [DOWNPOUR] I'm stuck at Devil's Pit
Go back to the tram station, pick up the change (if you didn't do it already) then go back to the motel. Once you've turned on the generator outside, you can enter a shed in the area that has the ticket machine inside of it. You'll know which shed this is, as I believe it has cables running out from...

Re: Here it is guys! OFFICIAL Silent Hill: Revelation TRAILE
I officially cannot wait for this movie to come out! I loved the first film (Yeah, that's right, I loved the first SH movie) and this one looks like it will be even better. Sure, the 'come to Silent Hill' written on the wall was rather cheesy, but I can look past that. I'll be seeing it on opening d...

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
^Yeah, sewer levels always seem to suck. The first sewer trek in SH1 and the sewers in 3 and Homecoming were all tedious, boring levels, and I think there's one in SM also. The only time they've ever been creepy in the entire series is the second underground voyage in SH1, as the other world has tak...

I don't consider Anne a boss, all you have to do is catch her. I thought of it more as you (as Bogeyman Murphy) being the boss, and Anne must try and defeat you.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Sidequest(s)
No way, I loved the game (though it does have a few frustrating moments). I'd rank Downpour over 4, Homecoming, and Origins.
Item retrieving side quests have always bored me, but if the side quest can be completed in the nearby area and/or relatively quickly, then I might do it.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Sidequest(s)
I'm not a side quest person, and I missed most of them on my first playthrough. Unless it can be completed in the immediate vicinity or is super creepy, I'm not going to bother with it for very long. My least favorites are any that require me to run around for ages finding things in obscure location...

Re: Downpour Cons ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
There isn't much I don't like about the game, but there are a few things. Lag, especially during very wide open areas. Thankfully, I only experienced this during the Devil's Pit area, but it was still kind of annoying. My game did freeze once during the orphanage level, and I had to turn off and res...

Re: Downpour Pros (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
I too loved the atmosphere, and how sounds, music and the rain were utilized. Some areas felt quite safe, while others had me walking around ready to smash my axe into anything that moved. The game truly felt scary at some points, and I loved it. One of the biggest scares that got me was in the norm...

Re: Did anybody else enjoy? (ENDING SPOILER MAMMOTH AHEAD YA
I thought it was interesting,(it reminded me of the Eat Me Drink Me section in Alice: Madness returns) I wouldn't mind seeing something in a similar vein appearing in a future Silent Hill game.

Re: Secret and hidden otherworlds
I'm not sure if this is hidden or a required trip, but at the very beginning of the orphanage level, my axe broke in the middle of destroying a boarded up doorway. I looked all over for another one, and finally examined a book shelf. Upon pushing it to the side, it revealed a hallway that was in the...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?
Yeah, I got bored with that side quest too. I didn't feel like finding all the receptors, and after a while I wasn't even curious as to what would happen if I did assemble all of them. I wouldn't mind if side quests come back in the next game, as long as they can be completed in the immediate or nea...

Re: Humorous/Funny Parts
I was amused when Murphy fell into the Abyss. I also find it funny when Heather plummets into a bottomless pit in SH3 and when Leon falls to his doom in RE4, but I can't figure out why. This is more weird than funny, but my brother experienced a weird glitch I haven't seen anyone mention. During one...

Re: Combat/Difficulty
The combat felt just right to me, it wasn't clunky or awkward. I didn't use firearms much, but then again I tend to use melee combat much more frequently in Silent Hill games.

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
Having played through Homecoming again a few days ago, I don't understand why so many people have an issue with the combat, or say that you're forced to fight every monster you encounter. That's simply not true. I tried to go through the game killing as few monsters as possible, with required boss f...

That nurse gave me trouble too, so eventually just equipped my pistol and shot her. There are more psycho nurses in the hotel later on, but you can sneak past them. As for needlers, they're too wide to fit through doorways. You can run from them as well.

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
I really like both games. While downpour ranks higher on my list than Homecoming, each game had things that it did better than the other. Homecoming's advantages: 1. the monsters. Homecoming had some good designs, and the Siam is one of my favorite non boss creatures in the series. My first time thr...
