Re: Discussion: 204863
I have a theory I don't know if anyone else has presented. I confess my familiarity with Japanese is limited, so feel free to correct me. I worked this out with a Japanese-English dictionary, Bing translator, and My Japanese Coach on DS. And I realize I may just be applying meaning in hindsight. Goi...

Re: Would Silent Hill work as a TV series/miniseries?
I like the story arc idea, but I don't know if it would make sense chronologically for Harry to cross paths with James, and then James with Heather, since there's 17 years between Harry's and Heather's experiences in Silent Hill. I just used that as an example. I think that a series would need a ne...

Re: Would Silent Hill work as a TV series/miniseries?
I haven't read the previous posts, but I will go back later. I had an idea for a Silent Hill series. Kind of an anthology series where each story arc involves different characters who cross each others' paths. For instance; The first story follows Harry. The town is introduced and the basic concept....

Re: Anyone here gotten the phone call?
Unless a headset comes standard with PS4, I'm assuming that speaking into the microphone, or not, isn't necessary.
Ugh! I need a PS4.

I noticed that the voice pauses before 6-3. Could this imply a release date on August 24?

Watching another play through. It suddenly struck me how the lights in the hall turning red is reminiscent of the hallway run at the end of Borley Mansion.

This seemed like a good enough place to put this. I didn't feel like starting a new thread.

Re: Kojima: "I want gamers to shit their pants"
I must admit, i missed the Stanley parable similarities...? Other than first person Replaying the same area over and over, opening new options/paths/outcomes with each pass. That's basically all the Stanley Parable is, with some gaming/social commentary thrown in. Honestly, while watching the video...

He says the graphics were "dumbed down" for the demo. o_O
My thought, too, though it might just be all the fire escapes and scaffolding.Rev wrote:I thought it kind of looked like the areas that Silent Hill: Downpour took place.

Re: Kojima: "I want gamers to shit their pants"
Just watched the new teaser. I admit I am intrigued. Is it just me or does the town look more like Downpour ? Anyway, the graphics look pretty amazing. Of course, what matters most is the story. I'm betting del Toro was involved with the writing. I really enjoy his stories. IMDB has him credited as ...

I'm assuming you're planning to do the inside as well? Very impressive work so far.
Oh, are you working on an Alternate version?

I didn't mind the escape QTE's. Those were actually quite helpful. For me, anyway.

How about something he did, but was never caught for. Something he's been hiding from everybody. But Silent Hill knows.

Re: Worst case scenario (Vatra, this is what we don't want)
I think what willcharlie was trying to make clear is that the transition between worlds is the only thing Downpour took from the film and Homecoming. Still, I doubt it's exactly the same. Personally, I'm not impressed with the transition. The whole "peeling away like paint" idea bores me. ...

Re: Worst case scenario (Vatra, this is what we don't want)
I think the idea of Murphy's design is that you don't like him, or have no feelings for him whatsoever, at the beginning. Then you learn more about him and you begin to sympathize with him. Then some twist happens and you hate his guts. He may or may not redeem himself by the end.

Re: SH 2 update
I'm still a little unclear on what a reboot is, but I know it's not a remake. A reboot is where they start everything again from scratch. Like the new spiderman is a reboot. They are starting again from the beginning with a new actor as spiderman, there is also changes to the story and characters. ...

Re: SH 2 update
It seems silly rebooting a film series that's only had one film. Isn't that what they did with the Hulk? I'm still a little unclear on what a reboot is, but I know it's not a remake. I haven't read all of the posts, and maybe this is the wrong thread, but here's my theory on the plot of the sequel....
