Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?

I think they did a decent job, but they have things they need to work on for sure. Several game play and tech things need to be ironed out. Story wasn't bad, but it felt a little lopsided. You are running through the first 1/2 of the game with little and then suddenly you slammed with most of the st...

Re: Who else here died the first time as the *spoiler*

I was trying not to hurt her on purpose, hoping this would give me a better ending, and didn't realize I could die. Honestly I thought I was invincible at first, but near the end I started to see the blood spots and got worried, then boom! It's nice that ending is in there though. :) *edit* Also am ...

Re: Pre-order bonuses

It's gotten a bit stupid at this point for the entire industry, and I do scratch my head about Downpour bonuses. Aren't these weapons going to break shortly? Then why make them bonuses? And f they aren't going to break, that destroys the point of the system and why it's in the game to begin with. We...

Re: How would you guys feel about co-op?

Silent hill is a single player experience.

Usually when you add more people to a horror title, the scare factor tends to go down by a lot.

Re: Ito's Japan boxart revealed

I remember reading something awhile ago that said something along the lines that Americans prefer box art that shows off the main character. Usually in an empowering way. You can see a lot of NA box art has this style. Other regions are different and tend to lean different ways with their covers. Pe...

Re: IGN - "Silent Hill: Downpour Needs More Work"

I love that he complained about the inventory system. God forbid something isn't made realistic for the sake of a better game. If you're looking for realism in Silent Hill your probably into the wrong series. Anyway the TGS trailer looks great, aside from the poor quality, and while I'm going to rea...

Re: Worried that Downpour will be too "casual."

All the Silent Hill titles have been similar. Having a paranoia casual/hardcore complex about a Silent Hill game probably means you need to go and work on something else for awhile.

Re: Bloody-Disgusting interview with Daniel Licht

As far as the mandolin is concerned, if your referencing the sample song on that page, the only important fact is does the song fit the game? When I listened to it and thought about water, either heavy raining over head or slowly drowning, the mandolin fit and add that perfect ebb and flow to it. Th...

Unique ideas for unique characters works for me. As long as it fits into Silent hill and the story, it's fine.

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official

Interesting details so far. I do kind of wish they would have taken the water thing a bit farther and altered the Otherworld away from the rust and decay. I understand Alessa was the one that created it, but when you know what's coming it hurts the capacity to scare. (Though I'm put on edge easily i...

I'm in support of better A.I. for sure. We advance in technology and yet A.I. ends up being about as moronic as it's ever been. Less predictable A.I. would be better.

Re: A. Cunningham

It is somewhat difficult to tell. It could be her, and based on how the story wishes to play out it would make more sense than some random cop. That being said, we don't know a lot of details so it's all speculation from here.

Re: what would you like to see in silent hill 8

I'd like multiple protagonists with stories that tie together nicely. I'd like to see the cop be a plyable character through part of the game, and Murphy through other parts. Not co op, and not completely independent stories, but only occasionally intersecting and all necessary to figure out what t...

Re: Combat.

i hope the game sticks to the formula it has in nearly every other game. shattered memories was an absolute mess. there's a right and a wrong way to do no-combat. I liked SHSM, though it could have been tweeked a little yes. Combat for the most part is ingrained in the series and should probably st...

Re: silent hill 8 humanoid monster

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the second coming of doctors. Medical or psychological in nature matters little to me, just a little more variety then the same nurse over and over. I understand how they were important and represented something in some of the entries, but dear lord has it gotten ov...

Bla bla... Somebody have already said it - Silent Hill 8 can turn out to be the greatest horror game ever. Even the soundtrack might be great. The thing is that there are lots of great games with wonderful soundtracks. I don't want that great game with the name Silent Hill. I want the Silent Hill f...

Re: what would you like to see in silent hill 8

Not trying to offend, but I don't think Team Silent or Akira are required for an excellent Silent Hill game. New artists bring new and fresh ideas to the table. Maybe not all of them are spectacular, but if Team Silent can make SH4 (IN MY OPINION...OPINION FOLKS) on of the worst games in the series,...

Re: Bring out the Scaree!!!

abstract psychological imagery or objects, disturbing or not, is always a bonus to me. I may not catch everything, but I love psychological stuff. The disturbing imagery should probably be there however, considering that's what set Silent hill up in the first place. It's not there just for simple cr...

Re: Please don't tell me that...

Pretty much in agreement, there's little reason to remake old entries in the series, all that does is slowly degrade and stagnate the series and then we will truly lose it. Fresh stories and ideas are what is needed. I don't care that it's not Team Silent, but more so that they put some effort into ...
