I don't think SH4 should be remade. I think it's a great game. One of my favorites actually. It may not have the same gameplay as the others in the series, but something like that isn't a huge deal to me.

It may not be perfect, then again what game is?

I would definitely say it's worth it. The story itself, to me, is absolutely amazing. Some parts may get a little annoying or repetitive, but it's worth it. It's probably my second favorite game out of the series.

I don't think Eddie can tell the difference between a dog laughing at him and an actual person.

All I knew was that James killed Mary and Maria was never real. I didn't get any of the symbolism until much later after reading people's theories about the game.

I always thought it symbolized Alessa's hospitalization.

Yeah, they're gum heads. I wasn't sure what they were the first time I saw 'em. And they definitely surprised me.
