I really was not a fan of SM at all. I hope they're as far from that as possible.

New music wasn't bad at all. Can't wait to see how it actually fits in the gameplay.

It was time for someone new though. The music in SM was really generic compared to the earlier games.

I don't want it based on "my" personality, there's too much room for error and it can get sloppy.

I remember a thread exactly like this a while back. I think it's a great idea to have it go back to the 19th century or when the area was first settled. Lanterns instead of flashlights. Stuff like that. The no Otherworld problem can be overcome, if the developer thinks of something actually creative...

The original by far. The story and atmosphere are what interested me in the series in the first place. Not to mention the complexity of that world. To me Shattered Memories story was rather simple, the ice theme didn't do much for me, and was really short. It never felt like a Silent Hill game to me...
