Re: Canon or no?

I've been out of the loop for some time... has Konami released any official timelines that tie Homecoming/0rigins and up to the last games? In fact, I'm actually blanking entirely on if Konami ever even released a chronology that even tied the first four games together. I'm probably thinking of the ...

Re: Canon or no?

I forgot about Travis in Homecoming; well see, there you go. I'd say that's the answer. I don't think anyone really cares anymore about the "is it or isn't it" canon argument, to be honest. Hence this thread being nearly three years old. And oddly necroposted. (Though I'm not helping one b...

Re: Canon or no?

Wow... it's been years since I was last here and I get a message in my inbox saying a thread was updated. But I'm going to say it's up to the player to decide what is and isn't canon in the divide between SH1-4 and 0rigins to ...whatever else they're coming up with now. There is no official word fro...

I don't see why not, especially considering the mannequins you see in the spiral staircase. Walter may be a child that wants his mother internally, but externally, he is a man and I have no doubts that he's capable of feeling attraction, lust, etc. His motives are that of a child, but there's no den...

Listen to this and tell me it isn't sexual . Especially when you turn it up and hear the second voice track in the background. Not picking on you, Carneeval, but your post just reminded me of the actual audio file which I don't think many people have actually listened to. Most probably only hear it...

Yes, because the Silent Hill series has -never- had a sexual aspect to it. Ever. It is not just pulling a sexual reference out of your ass in this case. I mean, trying to relate the Insane Cancer to Heather's sexual frustration probably is, but I think it makes a lot of sense in this specific case. ...

The flashlight would be cool to have-- the world of SH4 would have been scary as shit if everything were as dark as in SH2 and SH3. Other than that, there isn't much that I really would change. The "repetition" that many complain about is actually pretty justified by the story, though I wo...

It'd probably be better to go in fresh so you won't gripe your little heart out when Lisa is a drug addicted hooker with no redeeming qualities and Dahlia is some new age hippie. Silent Hill fans are really nitpicky. Yes, it's a bad thing, but we acknowledge this and recognize our annoying faults. ...

Wheat? My bad.

Heather is like the Kid of Silent Hill.

No wonder she's so spunky.

I think Henry is kind of a foil-- his lack of depth is meant to bring out Walter's story. If Henry had this full, drawn-out background, then Walter's wouldn't have stood out as much. Considering how normal and plain he is, his past probably consisted of a normal home with a normal family and general...

SHSM is completely different and not a part of the established timeline. You'll be missing a chunk of information by skipping SH1.

I'd say go into SM as if it were a completely different game. Don't look at it as a remake, but a remix. It's on it's own timeline, too, so nothing changed in SM will affect the canon of the other games.

Be optimistic, you might be pleasantly surprised. Might.

Oh, don't be shy. You know you'd want to give it a go, Sasarai. Any fan of SH that's willing to call themselves a "dedicated fan" will want to give it a go to see if it introduces anything new to the continuity, or clears up any mysteries from the first release. I agree, the acting isn't l...

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn229/404errord/claudiabrows.png This is even creepier. Anyone ever see girls shave their eyebrows off, and then draw it in sharpie or something? Re: What would you do if you were James? *SPOILERS*

I'm in an odd mood for questioning things today. I was thinking, James recieves a letter from Mary, even though she is dead. I mean he must have been at her funeral and all. So he knows she was put into the ground. Therefore I ask the two questions. 1.) Would you really believe that you got a lette...

I'm also glad that SM isn't a remake, because if they remade SH1 with the ideas they put into SM, fans would go apeshit. Honestly, if they had the time and money, I would like to see both. I've got a lot of friends whom I want to experience SH1, but they won't because they are "good graphics&qu...

I first played it in like, 2000 or 2001, so that puts me somewhere around 14.

Yeah, I was excited when they announced SM (before it was called SM, and everyone thought it was just going to be a remake, not a re-imagining). But then they revealed that it was going to be a "Re-Imagining" instead of a remake, and I felt a little jipped. Ah well, I'm still looking forwa...

So Heather's her own grandma.

For her birthday, I need to buy her a straw hat and a piece of hay to chew on.
