The fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh ..

Hi guys :D Just wondering whether any of you that have had access to the Japanese version of SH1, and if so, is this quote written in Japanese? I'm seriously wanting this as a tattoo but would prefer the Japanese text if that is how it was originally written. If it's always been in English then I'll...

Re: Prepping for release day, what are your plans?

I am currently in the process of going through the old Silent Hill games before this one gets released. So my husband and I have played 1, 2 and are now on 3. It takes us ages because with 2 little kiddies we have essentially 2-3 hrs per night after they go to bed and we have to allocate the time ac...

Re: Ito working on boxart for Japan release

Yeah..... that Ico comparison really said it all :| Will be interesting to see Ito's work, though I doubt any of us outside of Japan will get anything decent as our coverart. Homecoming - that family portrait cover with lame writing in the background, fail. SM - Cheryl on the swing frozen, meh. How ...

Re: lookie what I found!

full of win. This blurb kind of reminds me of when I re-read the back case of SH3 the other day - the way they described it sounded contrived and trite compared to what you experience in the game - but then I came to realise, how do you describe what's in the game in an ad or blurb in order to get p...

Re: So I bought Silent Hill.

Yes #1 definitely has best use of radio ! I love the otherworld out in the streets of Silent Hill in this one too. Despite its age it still manages to draw you right in and make you change your underwear several more times than any of the others  Glad you liked it. My husband, who has been show...

Re: So I bought Silent Hill.

I have just started another play through of this old gem myself. You won't be disappointed - quite frankly nothing causes an anxiety attack like #1, though I agree about the start. I hired the game when it first game out and couldn't understand what I was supposed to do, put the game down and didn't...

Re: Trophies/Achievements for Downpour

I found trophies really annoying in RE5, but then I found the whole game really annoying so maybe that's why  I don't know how I will feel about trophies in SH, if they ruin the atmosphere with a ding ding 2 bit chime and a picture of a trophy I may punch the screen. If its integrated into the ...

Re: The Children in Silent Hill 8

I just assumed the children played the same role as the 'children' in the school in SH1 or the shadows in SM, to scare the bejesus out of us.. but will be interested to find out if they play a part in the backstory here.

Re: Is 'Homecoming' anyone's favourite Silent Hill game?

Yeah the borrowing from the movie definitely sucked, especially PH, collective groan. Although it had some cool stuff like Hell Descent and Scarlett.. It just wasn't very inspired compared to the others, even Origins was much better. I'd still play homecoming over a zillion other games out there but...

I think silence says it all here!
I didn't hate it :) But certainly wouldn't crack the top 3 for me.. I should give it another play through though, just for the hell of it.

Re: Did you still like James at the end?

I didn't really like James at the start so the ending just cemented why I hadn't found him likable!
I found him vague and weird from the start, also the fact he was following Maria around whilst looking for his wife suggested he likes hoochies :P (tongue in cheek folks, obviously!)

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official

Yippee!! So happy I could wet my pants! I couldn't give a rats if it isn't produced by a japanese team to be honest, I've enjoyed every silent hill game for its own merits and would much rather play homecoming 50 times over than the majority of other titles out there. Plus nothing will ever be bette...

I'm pretty pissed at the delay but at the same time .. at the start of the year when this was announced I was concerned that they'd be able to knock out an awesome game by October/November this year. Considering the complexity in which they are injecting into the game via psych profiling and wii rem...

Is that a cross behind the sheep? If so I would hazard a guess that it could be representative of religion (the order) and its blind followers (the sheep). If infact it wasn't a cross, I still stand by the fact that the sheep represents a person who follows the pack blindly.. I'm sure that could mea...

No need to repeat I'm sure but Cheryl is way too cartoony in that cover, very not Silent Hill. I'd even take Homecoming's lamish cover because atleast Josh and Alex looked like real people. Silent hill developers always did good work on making the characters look real, this Cheryl is a major step ba...
